Ep. 98: Jill Sitnick - Healing PTSD With MDMA & Mushrooms

Ep. 98: Jill Sitnick - Healing PTSD With MDMA & Mushrooms

June 30, 2022

Jill Sitnick is the author of Rescuing Jill: How MDMA With A Dash of Mushrooms Healed My Childhood Trauma-Induced PTSD. Prior to authoring the book, Jill worked for a large, global technology company focused on educational technology solutions. She left the comfort of that job to put her full focus into telling her story and sharing it with the world.

Growing up with sever trauma, Jill was diagnosed with PTSD at age 49 after the untimely death of her partner. After following the advise of her Doctor, Jill embarked on over a year long journey of guided therapy sessions while under the influence of MDMA which has changed her life drastically, no longer with a clinical diagnosis of PTSD.

This episode is one I hope you share with as many as possible and that all who listen can gain some much needed insight to PTSD and treating it with psychedelics.

June 23, 2022

Shaka Curtis is a military veteran, 10th Planet Austin mixed martial artist and Personal Freedom coach who has developed a comprehensive program that he used to overcome the deep bouts of PTSD, something he had battled since his time overseas.

By using a combination of light & sound reduction therapy, diet, exercise and by establishing new and positive personal relationships, he was able to find footing and generated a semblance of normalcy in his life again.

We talked about this journey, from PTSD to the work he still does today to ensure he stays on a positive track forward. He is now providing these methods to others who like him have struggled with PTSD and we discussed where you can go to learn more about how he has taken ownership of his happiness. Ep. 96: Joesh Savage - Amazon Ayahuasca Trips & Documentary

June 20, 2022

Joesh Savage is audio / video engineer, producer, comedian, documentary film creator, and friend. He is currently documenting the impacts of deforestation, westernization and segmentation of land that was once free to roam on the tribes and their culture that is rich in plant based medicine, specifically Ayahuasca ceremonies in the Amazon.

We talked about his several trips to the jungle, many of 30 days at a time over the past 4 years where he has been both documenting their way of life, the changes they have incurred, but also his own personal journey using these plants to find a deeper meaning to life and himself.

He shared some pretty wild stories about his travels to and from, as well as his experiences on the medicines that will blow your mind.

Ep. 95: Phil Demers - The Walrus Whisperer

Ep. 95: Phil Demers - The Walrus Whisperer

June 20, 2022

Phil Demers is a former Marineland animal trainer who is known as the @walruswhisperer. He has been in a legal battle with Marineland since his departure in 2012, being  sued for $1.5 million for plotting to steal a walrus named Smooshi that Phil had imprinted on and that believed him to be her mother.

His story has gained national attention over the past 10 years, including where I heard of him while he was a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast multiple times over that span.

Phil and I talked about how he found himself working at Marineland at 22 years of age in the first place, the mental impact of taking animals away from their mothers, what the future holds for current captive marine mammals, and even some discussion about Phil's musical interests and past experience as a touring musician.

Fantastic episode that I hope you enjoy and SHARE with all your friends! This is one that everyone should hear! Follow on social media @thatcuriousjones and Stay Curious!

Lucas Ighile is a Creative Director, former Music Producer, friend & previous guest of the podcast. We share a mutual interest for exploring all corners of thought, wonder, space and existence and we discussed some of the burning questions we both have had recently. He is currently preparing for a regular cadence of removing himself from social media, where he will take 2-3 months away from all platforms and he shared the impact over time this practice has given him.

We also talked about the what seems to be increasing craziness of the world and what it could potentially mean about the bigger picture of existence.
