Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there who are listening to this episode today. In spirit of the holiday and to fulfill something that I wanted to do since starting down the podcasting journey. Today's episode is a special episode with my Dad, Dave Jones and we talked about the crazy stories he has shared with my brothers and I over the years and some of the other life experiences that shaped his youth.
Born on a Native American reservation in 1963, my father moved often as a child while his family was on the run from the US government. At 15 when his stepfather was arrested by the FBI after going awol from the Army, only so he could change his name and social security number to join the Navy. He attended 9 different schools across the east coast and lived experiences that rival Showtime's "Shameless".
We spend 90 minutes exploring these stories and talking about how they shaped him into the person he is today. I couldn't be more thankful for him coming on the show, sharing things many would never want to share and for always being such a great father!

Joseph Jones is a cannabis advocate, entrepreneur and is also my younger brother. Joey and I were co-hosts of The Bud Brothers Podcast and have recorded a number of past episodes specific to the cannabis space.
We spent the first 20 minutes of this episode discussing an interesting experience he had on his birthday at Knott's Berry Farm specific to mask mandates. Mike Marcella is the author of "Dirty Thoughts? Let's Talk" and the co-founder of The Clean Thinkers program. It has been exactly one year since I started this podcast and I thought I would change things up a bit and do this episode solo.
I had a lot of thoughts about all of this.. the amazing people I have spoken with; the stories and journeys they shared with me; the evolution of my own thinking, and the thoughts of where I want to take it next.
I have a lot of people, especially my family, that deserved a thank you for creating a reality for me that allows me the ability to continue doing this. They make this work.
The past 365 has been pretty eye opening and I am really looking forward to more of it this next year.

Alan Liu is an amateur mixed martial arts fighter from Pittsburgh, PA who fights out of the Stout Academy. His nickname "The Chinese Disappointment" coming from his journey to the cage which included lying to his conservative and strict parents who forbid him from fighting and ultimately stopped paying for his pre med education as part of an ultimatum.
We discuss his upcoming fight on May 15, the support his Stout teammates have provided him, and we also got into a crazy story about how his family fell into the belief the world was going to end in 2011 and he lived the majority of his childhood believing he was going to die at the age of 14. Ultimately, an experience which explains a lot of what drives him to this day.

Sean Swarner is considered by many to be one of the top 10 most inspirational people in human history. He is a survivor of not 1 but 2 advanced stage cancer diagnosis, a year long coma and the removal of one of his lungs.
With only one functioning lung, a prognosis of fourteen days to live, and being in a medically-induced coma for a year, Sean Swarner is the first cancer survivor to stand on top of the world... Mt. Everest. Sean has broken through defined human limitation in order to redefine the way the world views success.
Sean was diagnosed with two deadly, different, and unrelated forms of cancer, once at the age of thirteen and again at the age of sixteen. After an incredibly poor prognosis, and being read his last rites, Sean astounded the medical community when he survived both these brutal diseases. He realized that after defeating cancer twice, no challenge would ever be too great, no peak too high.
Sean proved his theory when he crested the peak of Mt. Everest. As the first cancer survivor to do so, Sean decided to continue climbing and has since topped the highest peaks in Africa, Europe, South America, Australia, Antarctica, and North America, thus completing the “7-Summits”. Upon skiing to both the South and the North Poles, Sean completed the Explorer’s Grand Slam.
With the completion of the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii, Sean is the only person in history to accomplish these inhuman feats.
Sean shares his message of healing, hope, and triumph with cancer patients worldwide. He serves as a source of inspiration as the founder of the non-profit organization, The CancerClimber Association, as author of the book “Keep Climbing,” and as a motivational speaker to corporations, universities, and other organizations around the globe.
