This episode is from the archives (my dropbox) where it has sat unpublished for some time. It was the last episode I recorded of my former podcast, Bud Brothers with my younger brother Joe (aka Doobie). It was different from the rest we had done and in retrospect was the very first Curious Jones Podcast episode I ever did, I just didn't know it yet. Ty Empey is a friend and current admissions and marketing associate for a Utah based detox facility. He is currently 4+ years sober after spending several years addicted to alcohol, heroin and other drugs and now works at a detox center providing others with the help that ultimately saved his life.
We talked about his initial use of stimulants which he took to aid in working long hours, and how it ultimately manifested into an opiate and meth addiction, the loss of friends, family and sense of himself.
His story is raw and may be difficult to hear but one that we both feel should be shared with as many as possible. I really appreciate his willingness to share it in the detail he did and hope you enjoy it as well.

We had a great conversation about the benefits of solar as well as some of the potential geo-political implications due to growing interests in Lithium deposits around the world for its use in batteries.
I really enjoyed the conversation and his insight. Dusty is not afraid to share his opinions, and I really like that about him.

Hailing originally from Adelaide, Australia, Antonio "The Spartan" Caruso is a welterweight mixed martial arts fighter who fights with ONE Championship, Asia's largest MMA promotion. He now trains with one of MMA's top teams, Sanford MMA, based in south Florida.
Coming off of an impressive unanimous decision victory over Eduard Folayang, Antonio is in the midst of a 14 day lockdown quarantine upon after his reentry to Australia from his fight in Singapore. We talked about his recent victory over Eduard Folayang and his continued growth as a mixed martial artist. We also spent the first 10 minutes discussing some of the intense Covid-19 restrictions he is dealing with in Australia and how it contrasts with other areas of the world he has been in since the beginning of the year.

Sean Tobias Ambriz is an active duty member of the United States Army, 2x Bronze Star w/ Valor award winner, and Purple Heart Recipient. He is the author of "Ghosts of the Valley", a book which outlines 2 days of his deployment that he will never forget, and which are responsible for the accolades he has earned.
He began writing his stories as a way to cope with bouts of PTSD and has now begun to champion causes close to the veteran community as a way to give back and help others with similar experiences and stories.

Greg Overton is a western artist specializing in Native American artwork, combining historical figures and events with an interesting and unique imagination. His work has gained recent notoriety from its mentions on The Joe Rogan Experience and his work with Joe on unique custom artwork for his home and podcast studios.

Cole Simonson is a conservationist and backcountry athlete from Wyoming who recently completed a successful, 28 day archery elk hunt in the Big Horn mountains. He has embraced a new way of life which includes a strong focus on his health, nutrition and physical fitness to improve his ability to successfully hunt in some of the countries most remote and difficult terrain in the lower 48 states.
We discussed his recent hunt and the challenges and triumphs that were a part of it, as well as some discussion on the growing population of predators like Grizzly Bear and Wolves which have created a troubling dilemma for many big game hunters competing with them for deer, elk and moose.
